Symptoms

Mental disorders are easier to prevent at an early stage. There is no need to be afraid of consulting a psychiatrist due to superstitions. There will be no coercion, and even anonymous consultations with a psychiatrist are possible. Not everyone can deal with their feelings and mental problems on their own. Most often, such attempts lead to the exacerbation of the situation and the development of somatic disorders – psychosomatics. Somewhere a person experienced stress, and then their blood pressure, blood sugar, and gastrointestinal problems increased. They are examined by various specialists who cannot identify the cause of the illness, which is hidden in the psyche.

Unfortunately, not all parents find the courage to turn to a child psychiatrist when their child has problems. Most of them try to treat their children themselves, which leads to a deterioration of their mental state. The work of a child psychiatrist involves not only the identification and treatment of mental disorders but also the reception and counseling of mentally healthy children. It is better to prevent illness than to treat it later.

Among the signs that may indicate changes in mental health or mental disorders, we can highlight:

  • Low mood or apathetic states without external reasons, lasting more than two weeks. Feeling that life has become gray and meaningless. Everyday tasks must be done as if by force (difficulties with daily hygiene, eating, performing regular tasks, etc.).
  • Sharp decline in cognitive abilities, inattention, concentration problems, and memory issues. Changes in work or educational productivity.
  • Persistent insomnia or, conversely, constant drowsiness, regardless of the daily schedule.
  • Lack of appetite or, conversely, indiscriminate eating.
  • Constant inner tension or irritability. A sense of ungrounded anxiety (“something is about to happen now”).
  • Ordinary situations that have become unbearable (going to the store, interacting with people, loud music, traveling in transport, etc.).
  • Regular use of psychoactive substances – when a person cannot feel happy without drugs or alcohol.
  • Occurrence of uncontrolled states (an uncontrollable flow of tears, an inability to stop, fear of communication with people, panic, aggression, etc.).
